If you're gonna do something in the internet you don't want anyone (especially the police 👀) to know... Then you've come to the right place!

Magical teleporter ✨

Prelude...

Nowadays everything is spying on you on the internet! It's impossible to anything more than silly without getting caught, cancelled, or even worse-- jailed! Even though we can't go back to the old internet we can still retain the privacy and freedom by using alternative software and learning how to stay anonymous.

In order to not get caught doing sillies you need 3 things:

  1. Privacy - No one snooping on you.
  2. Anonymity - No one knows who you are.
  3. Security - No one can access your sillies.

Heres what you need to do...

Stop using windows!

Windows is a spyware and all of your personal data is sent to evil Mr Gates!

Okay maybe that’s an exaggeration... but still! Data that can identify you is still taken by Microsoft and sold to advertizers and can be easily requested by the government if they know you've been doing sillies!

…so what's the solution? Linux!🐧

Ditch that proprietery crap! All hail FOSS!

  • Free and open source software (FOSS) - You can see the code, free for you to download and modify
  • Proprietery software - You can't see the code nor modify it. Hard to know what it's doing.

Linux!🐧 is a free and open source (FOSS) operating system, this means that you can see the code behind it and can be 99.99% sure it isnt doing something behind your back.

Heres my top 3 Linux distributions:

  1. Nobara - Has a unique desktop. Great if you have an Nvidia GPU.
  2. Debian - Rock solid and stable, and very slow updates (two years).
  3. Linux Mint - Rock solid like Debian, more idiot friendly and has a windows-like interface.

You can just easily look up a tutorial on how to install any of these on your hardware so I didn't include how to install them here.

Once you have Linux install it's time to switch your life from using proprietery software to using free and open source software, this is the hardest part because this means you'll have to let go some of your favorite programs and switch to different more privacy friendly ones. This process can be aided by using a tool like "Open Source Alternative To" which helps you find open source alternatives to the software you currently use.

Idiots beware!

Even if you have the greatest security and privacy tools you can still be tracked down if you don't practice OPSEC.

OPSEC is just a fancy acronym for Operations Security, basically it means making sure you cover your tracks and dont accidentally de-anonymize yourself and leave breadcrumbs everywhere.
